Job Description
We are partnering with a North American automobile dealership group to recruit a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, you will be overseeing corporate payroll, group benefit management, and disability administration processes. The role is based in Edmonton, Alberta.
Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to
- Oversee the administration of the group benefit plan
- Responsible for the organization disability administration process
- Communicate with benefit provider to ensure accurate, timely and complete information to support disability claims and planning for return to work and/or accommodation
- Meet with external disability claims team provider on a quarterly basis reviewing and analyzing disability claims
- Prepare specialized reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
- Lead administration of future benefit projects
- Review of semi-monthly payroll process for centralized payroll consisting of various divisions and pay types
- Review of monthly payroll liability account reconciliation
- Ensure consistent compliance across all locations relating to payroll legislation
What you’ll bring
- Strong analytical, attention to detail with problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with different business group
- Experience working within a complex payroll environment with multiple pay types
- 5+ years full cycle payroll experience and 3+ year group benefit plan management
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- A working knowledge of payroll legislation across various Canadian provinces is required
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) an asset
